We Travel, Some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls. - Anais Nin
People always question me that how travel has transformed me. If I look back at who I was before I decided to start traveling and equate that to who I am now, I would have to say that travel has made me an improved and more well-versed person. I’m way cooler now than I was before when I first left to explore the vicinity.
Simply saying, I am way more awesome than I was.
Truly saying, I think travel makes anyone a more awesome individual. We terminate our trips way better off than when we started. I’m not saying this to be conceited or big-headed; I’m saying it because I believe that travel is something that makes you not only an improved human being but a way calmer one too. The kind of person people fall toward and want to be around.
How and why does travel make you more splendid? Let me count it for you:
Farther Social –
You either get well at making friends or you end up alone. You acquire the art of making friends out of strangers and get more comfortable with talking to new people. When I first started traveling, I was an introvert and uncomfortable talking to those who I didn’t know. Now, I happily talk to strangers like we’ve been knowing each other for years.
Better at tête-à-tête –
Travel not only makes you relaxed talking to strangers, it makes you better at. After talking to people all the time, the same questions get dull. You start to even bore yourself. After a while, you don’t care about where people are from, where they are going, how long they’ve been traveling, and blah blah blah. Those kinds of questions don’t tell you anything about the person. You’ll get better at small talks and learn how to ask interesting questions — the ones that are substance and tell you more about the person.
More self-confident –
Maybe you’ve travelled the world. Hiked the Everest. Dived the Great Barrier Reef. Wined and dined with that beautiful French girl in Paris, navigated unknown cities, and subjugated your fear of heights. I mean, you did awesome things. How can you not be more self-confident? How can you not be sure about your capabilities? After completing so much, you’re going to feel a lot more self-confident in your ability to achieve anything you set your mind to.
More flexible –
You deal with missed flights, wrong turns, slow buses, delays, bad street food, and much, much more. After some time, you learn how to adjust in your plans of changing conditions. You don’t get furious, you don’t get angry; you just alter what you are doing and move on. Life throws curve balls at you and you hit them out of the park. Because you’re awesome like that.
More adventurous –
And when you become self-assured in your ability to do anything, you do it all. Last month in Bangalore, despite not liking coconut oil food, I ate the hottest dosa fried in coconut oil. But Why? Because I desired to. What is the drive of life if not to come out of your comfort zone? I may be didn’t like it, but I’d do it again.
More easy-going –
All those blunders? Blunders did something else for you, too. They made you additional easy-going and stress-free. Because you’ve dealt with all those mistakes and you don’t even care. You go with the flow, because if travel taught you whatsoever, it all works out in the end and that there’s no need to stress.
Street Smart –
Go and sit at a beach side resort, drowning your brain in frozen drinks, travel will show you the real world. You’ll learn more about people, culture, history and deep facts about places you could only dream about. You’ll become thoughtful about how it works and how people function. That is something which can never be learned from books; you can only get it up with on-the-road experience.
Very Much Happier –
Travel explains you how to be content. You become relaxed, confident, and see the world as a livelier place. How can one be sad after looking at all those things?
Traveling makes you a better person. When you absorb the happiness in the world and in the people in it, you push your limits to try new things, you become a more exposed, outgoing, and awesome person. All the people I have acknowledged who have travelled are better people now.
After reading this there will be no reason for you to not to plan your next adventure.
Don’t just sit at home, go out, travel and become the ULTIMATE TRAVEL JOCKEY.
